“Solovey’s voice is both a dreamy whisper and a ghostly figure,
and we can’t get enough of it.” – Alyssa Coluccio, PureVolume
Maya Solovey released her new EP, Forte last week. Recorded, produced, and mixed by two-time Grammy Award Winner, Bassy Bob Brockman (Notorious BIG, Christina Aguilera, Bob Dylan), Forte brims with an exuberant American sound: colossal drums, cinematic strings, grand percussive pianos, rollicking guitars, tasteful electronics, and most notably Maya’s full-bodied beatific voice, which sounds as if were made from silk and ache.
Maya will be performing a FREE SHOW at The Living Room in New York City TONIGHT (Thurs, June 28) at 9pm to celebrate the new EP
Thursday, June 28 – 9pm
Maya Solovey @ The Living Room
154 Ludlow Street
New York, NY
“Here’s a rarity: An original voice who really is original! Drawing inspiration from all over the map, Maya Solovéy has developed a deep, enchanting sound that’s unlike anything else out there right now.” – Tom Moon, (NPR, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine)
Besides Brockman, Maya enlisted some of the Brooklyn’s best musicians to round out this fresh towering sound on the EP and for the show tonight: Kuroma and MGMT’s Hank Sullivant adds his psychedelic guitar leanings, renowned classical musician Dave Egger performed on cello, and acclaimed composer Naren Rauch organized all of the arrangements.
See you tonight!
